Y'know, I'd think the EA Indie Bundle is just a little bit of a misnomer.

But then who the fuck am I kidding, Indie's just come to mean "game with low production values".

Eventually it'll go the same way as music. Indie music doesn't even describe how it's made, it's a sound now. Indie game is just going to mean kooky platformers that are full of poetry or whatever.

Maybe it'll go totally topsy turvy and they'll be making indie multiplayer first person shooters for not money and the big studios will be putting out things like Braid 7 and Super Meat Boy Galaxy.

That Blops 2 trailer did nothing right.

Confusing. Poor looking graphics. Poor sound effects. No character development. Bad voice acting. Bad writing. Cliche'd. Insulting to people who work in risk assesment and engineering.

Then again, the villain of MW2 was Ozymandias voiced by Lance Henricksen. Bishop from Aliens.

Since the fourth installment CoD's writers can't decide if they should glorify war or condemn it, so instead they just half-ass both themes and shove them together into the same game.

It proves that WW2 is so much easier to write. Everyone knows the conclusion and what sides they should root for. The reason I liked Modern Warfare's story so much is that it did a great job of portraying war in the age of omnipresent media and had many fun moments where it felt you were living out an international crisis.

Since then, it just seems the whole series has been slipping further and further into their own paranoid bullshit world. I haven't played MW3, but what's happening now, the US has been nuked or something? It's all going a bit too far off the James Bond-o-metre.

No, Russia launched a surprise assault on America, one of the first missions have you boarding a nuclear sub in the New York harbor, then launching it's missiles at the Russian fleet (also in the harbor). Then russia invades Yurop after they get kicked out of America, somehow defeating the entire British, German and French militaries in a matter of days, then you play as a handful of rogue special forces members with no offical backing who manage to somehow locate the head terrorist and track him over every third world shit hole before finally killing him.

It's gone way too over the top for me, I despise playing as the elite-commando-SAS-Delta Force-sniper-marine fighting off the entire Russian army and saving Yurops before killing the head terrorist and banging the Russian president's hot daughter.

I much preferred the grunt US marine in both MW1 and MW2, it felt much more real, over the SAS chapters, partly because they were over the top, partly because FUCK THE SAS IRA NO SURRENDER and all that. Most were still fun though.

But yeah, that sounds boring to me. Back to ArmA II.

Pripyat was a good example of scripted stealth at the start. The final mission was awfully pulse pounding as well.

http://www.vg247.com/2012/05/10/no-plans-for-dragons-dogma-on-pc-launch-trailer-released/

No PC release for Dragon's Dogma. Also, no multiplayer.

I looked into the Pawn system a bit, and I just have wonder what the hell are they doing?
The player has three pawns, one of which is fully customisable just like the player character. The other two can be pawns downloaded from other peoples' games or NPCs prebuilt in the game.

And this is an entirely singleplayer game.
It's like they designed a system completely around co-op multiplayer and local splitscreen multiplayer and just cut out the multiplayer aspect. It's like a singleplayer only Left 4 Dead or Resident Evil 5. I just don't get it. The only sane thing I can think of is that they're releasing co-op multiplayer as DLC- this is Capcom, after all.

I don't get why the pawn system means they won't be releasing it for PC either, but then I can reason that that's just a lie.

So the team behind the new Hitman made a pre-order minigame that gives you plenty of different ways to finish one objective

Good idea.

However, the game will still be far more blood thirsty than previously.

I wonder if that'll suit me though considering my recent stealth attempts in MGS.

As long as I'm never forced to have a 3rd person shootout (Unless it's the final boss) then I'll be happy.
