Finally got round to visiting the library. Their Health and Fitness section is glorious, got my first book "Advanced Circuit Training" can't wait to see what else they have there.

Finished "Building the Gymnastic Body" a very interesting book but pretty much all the moves are all too advanced for me. I'll have to re-read in the future and see what I can do.

Reading Dispatches by Michael Herr.

Probably the best book I've ever read.

Holy fuck The Black Company was bad. Can anyone recommend me some good low fantasy to wash away the taste of terrible lazy writing it's given me?

And that Timeline-191 I've always been raving about, it's gritty, WW1 and WW2 alternate history written in a similar style to Game of Thrones.

Finally finished reading Pure and Applied Gymnastics. Not a bad book considering it was written in the 60's. Interesting reading what they thought then to what they think now.

Learnt some decent shit on Active Stretching.

Finally get to start reading "Blasting and Bombardiering" Wyndham Lewis's Autobiography.

Man I'm really liking B&B old Lewis is a funny chap. After reading about 80% of a biography and an 8th of an autobiography I've come to the conclusion auto biographies are far superior as you get to know the person aswell as about them.

Decided to give the Black Company books another go. Second book is quite better than the first, as the writing itself is considerably less lazy/poor and a chunk of the LOLWIZARDS faggotry of the first has been taken out and replaced with more interesting low-fantasy grimdawk shenanigans. Still not the most interesting fantasy read I feel, but at this point I'm willing to move onto the third book after this one, in hopes that the series improves even more so.

Also the meek innkeeper is such a fucking great character.

Almost finished That Hideous Strength by CS lewis. Its good but it starts off very slow.

The trick is to power through the first 2-3 chapters and then it gets really good.

Finally since I've paid off my bike debts to my parents I can afford new fitness books. Read the first chapter of it so far and already learnt something.

Also got this which is a fascinating book if you're me. Need to start learning the human anatomy in more detail, I only know the major muscle groups off by heart at the moment and I'd like to change that.

I couldn't put Raising the Bar down. It was a damn good read and I've learnt alot from it but as I said yesterday it isn't a book for a beginner. As part of a collection it is invaluable but on it's own it's just good.

I'm going to get back to Blasting and Bombardiering I think.

Ben Elton's books are so off. I don't know if I like them or not.

On the one hand he has interesting ideas and his books go into a good amount of detail, but on the other he's such a fucking wanker. Every single book is about a modest single sensible guy who has refined taste and is surrounded by the overwhelming shallow majority except for one standout girl who falls in love with him.
Every book, this guy's frustrated with how much he feels better than everyone else but sigh oh well he puts up with it with a strong face. Every example of how frivolous and gaudy the modern world is is so overplayed. I always remember the one part where he has an argument with a french Starbucks clerk about ordering a tall vs a small coffee, it's so fucking pointless and wanky and only there to demonstrate how special his self-insert feels.
