I've been reading game of thrones. Some textbooks. And "The Athletic Body in Balance". Which is a bit of a weird book.

So far its pretty good. I've read 3 of the books so far.

Some of the characters are a bit stupid and all the people I like keep dying/getting shat on. So far its some of the best fantasy I've read.

Besides minor inaccuracy in the combat, which really doesn't bother me, it's fantastic.

Finished this book. It was a bit out of date in places but overall it was an excellent resource for exercises and what not. Well worth reading.

I'm onto this collection now. Read the one on the right and I'm about half way through the one on the left.

Didn't really like the guy from the first book. Seemed a bit of a show off in his writing. This second book had really turned me around though. He's pretty damn knowledgeable and I've already got some gems from the book. Also I love a book that uses the word "Pep" at least once a page.

Agreed. It's boring and it influenced far too many murderers.

If you want to understand Afghanistan, this is the book for you. I was not previously au fait with Afghanistan's pre-1950's history, but this makes it very clear, in the most eloquent fashion. It also brutally depicts one of Britain's biggest ever military disasters in a way that casts the keen eye of history over their current adventure.

Found a lovely little comics place that's cheap, has a HUGE range of stuff and run by a guy who gave me the business card of a place that would sell me a comic more complete and cheaper than he could.
Got that baller as shit Aliens comic with that one that smokes a cigar.

I thought the second movie was better, still a good trilogy though.

Got a load more books come from:

http://www.superstrengthbooks.com/

Which is a goddamn gold mine when it comes to old school books and texts.

Going to be a while before I start any of them as I'm half way through:

Which is about 100x better than I was expecting. The first quarter is devoted to muscle function, injury and recovery. I learnt loads from it.

I highly recommend reading it as it's damn cheap and covers some really great stuff. The massage techniques are also pretty banging. Just need a bitch to try them on.

Finished my massage book which was excellent.

Got a few real short books on a variety of topics. I've read through the 2 on grip work and I'm starting the 2 on muscle control.

The muscle control is basically what I was already doing with my focusing on muscle but has given me a few really great ideas and the positions in which to perform the moves are genius. Worth the money.

I'm now reading Rich Tucker's "Biblical Nutrition."

I thought it was just a snazzy title for a so called bible of nutrition. Turns out it's nutrition, diet and lifestyle taken from the actual bible. I'mokwiththis.jpg

Read "The Body has a mind of it's own" it was amazing. I recommend it to anyone who has an interest in the mind body connection.

Now reading "Balance In search of the lost sense" it's actually a lot better than I expected it to be. The body's senses other than the main 5 are fascinating to me. Sight, Sound, Taste, Smell and Touch are so mainstream.

Counted up the other day I've now read 29 books on the topic of health and fitness. Not bad, got quite a library built up.

Reading me some Lovecraft - Dreams of Terror and Death. The short stories are surprisingly easy to comprehend compared to his other stuff, namely Call of Cthulhu and At the Mountains of Madness. Would recommend for anyone looking to get into Lovecraftian horror.

Charlie Brooker wrote:Years ago, I had an idea for a futuristic pair of goggles that visually transformed homeless people into lovable animated cartoon characters. Instead of being confronted by the conscience-pricking sight of an abandoned heroin addict shivering themselves to sleep in a shop doorway, the rich city-dweller wearing the goggles would see Daffy Duck snoozing dreamily in a hammock. London would be transformed into something out of Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
What's more, the goggles could be adapted to suit whichever level of poverty you wanted to ignore: by simply twisting a dial, you could replace not just the homeless but anyone who receives benefits, or wears cheap clothes, or has a regional accent, or watches ITV, and so on, right up the scale until it had obliterated all but the most grandiose royals.
Spent all night sitting in the dead cloakroom at work. Brooker's I CAN MAKE YOU HATE got me through the 6 hours there. Read it, good stuff
