At risk of turning this into my Dark Souls Blog, sorry people who keep getting emails about my progress, here's what I did today.

Got that Drake Sword.

Killed the Giant headless statue that shoots lightening at you, the Moon Butterfly and opened the big door with the seal in the garden.

Currently getting owned by ghosts of other classes I think.

Coming off for lunch and stuff. Any guidance would be helpful Xandy.

Also, you can get past the dragon by firing an arrow at him from a safepoint near the stairs, then running across the bridge when he comes to land on it. Just run past the dragon when it lands and light the bonfire at the end, this will cause the dragon to fly away.

You'll find a claymore, once of the best weapons to upgrade in the game, on a corpse nearby and can access the Sunlight Altar that lets you join Solaire's covenant.

Nope, killed it by myself on first try. Was bloody easy. Just a easy to fool homing attack and a predictable lazer spam thing.

The covenant can be joined by kneeling before the statue across the gate. To be able to do so though, you need to have 25 faith (although the faith requirement goes down by 5 each time you help someone beat a boss as a white phantom).

The next area is going to be Blighttown, one of the worst in the game. Make sure to gets a FUCKTON of moss from the female undead merchant. Everything in Blighttown is poison or on fire. There's always a risk of you falling to your death until you get to the ground, which gives you constant poison damage. Also there's blowgunners who will give you a very specific type of super poison that can only be cured with expensive Blooming Moss clumps. Also there's awesome treasures scattered everywhere but are placed in ares that are extremely annoying to reach.

Blightown was fine. Just the route through was a little confusing. Ie, lots of jumps and climbing!

Killed the fire spider thing and rang the bell, attempted to kill Ceaseless DIscharge but gave up.

Instead went exploring the depths of Blightown. Found "The Great Hollow"

Descended it, found the ash lake and Dragon Covenant. And a fucking flying Hydra. Needless to say, I ran through that area...

There's a glitch when trying to reach the top of the tree from the bottom. Invisible wall on the only branch up. Managed to do some sequence breakey jumps to avoid it though.

How do you become a phantom co-op guy? I put my seal down and NOBODY even tries to call me for halp.

Try putting it down as close to a bonfire as possible, make sure your level is close to that of the area's average, and have lots of patience.

BTW did you find the Chaos Covenant after the Blighttown boss?

I'd say Blighttown or Sen's Fortress (which opened when you rang the second bell) would be good places.

Oh and you'll probably want to wait a bit before braving Sen's Fortress. There's a bit of a difficulty curve that becomes apparent as soon you fight its first enemies.

I'd recommend simply exploring the areas you've already beaten, looking to pick up items and upgrading your gear with titanite (speaking of which, you should probably forget about the Drake Sword by this point as it starts getting piss-weak without any scaling abilities, and start upgrading the claymore).

Some other things that I'd recommend doing include:

- revisiting the Undead Asylum, getting the doll and crest shield (would not recommend fighting the boss though)
- getting the Fire Keeper Souls in New Londo and Blighttown, then upgrading your Estus Flask with them
- teaming up for jolly co-operation whenever you feel like it
- beating and exploring the Darkmoon Basin (although I would not recommend fighting it's boss either)
- farming humanity in the Depths
- killing Ceaseless Discharge
- getting the ninja-flip ring (and if you want, weeaboo weaponry) from the Forest Hunters
- killing the Undead Dragon in the Valley of Drakes
- if you've got the balls plus a divine weapon, venture into the Catacombs and defeat Pinwheel to get the Rite of Kindling
- killing Havel in Undead Burg and getting his amazing ring

-How do I get back to the Asylum?
-I think I have them already, I have +3 flask.
-Will try to find players.
-I beat Sif the giant wolf, is he the boss?
-I can't kill Ceaseless Discharge. My guy relies on stamina defence. I can't roll away at all.
-Where are the forest hunters?
-I met the dragon. Got him to half health I think.
-I went into the Catacombs the other day. I got quite far. I found an enemy who was human holding a lantern. Then all the skeletons regenerated and butfucked me.
-Killed Havel already. My stamina could block most of his attacks!

- Being less encumbered means heavy armour will weight less and be easier to move/roll around in. Havel's Ring increases your equipment load by 50% which will make you mobile in even the heaviest armours. A must have for anyone who uses heavy armour.

Cool.

Wearing stone armour at the moment because it's hilarious.

Once you've gotten through Anor Londo, there will be a giant blacksmith near the end. He ascend weapons to lightning, crystal and make weapons out of boss souls.

With Kellogg's you can make a chaos katana that does tons of damage but drains your own health, or a chaos curved sword that looks awesome and does lots of fire damage based on your humanity.

With Sif's you can make an awesome greatsword or a greatsword with ridiculous stat requirements.
