Looking at some screenshots of Skyrim. The whole game world looks like my backyard during winter.

This is a fucking joke.

I bought a physical copy so I didn't have to go through this downloading bullshit.

Now it turns out I have to download 5,735.4 MB before I can even play the game.

THAT'S GOING TO TAKE ABOUT 4 YEARS WITH MY CONNECTION YOU FUCKS.

Two handed weapons are better.

Was lost in the middle of the night in a mountain range. Ended up at the racist town of Falkreath. Navigating back to the security of WhiteRun now.

Decorating homes is so easy now.

Instead of trying to balance stuff, bookcases and shit have inventorys to put it in, but it places them (books) on the shelf in a upright and balanced position.

Hard to explain. SO GO BUY A HOUSE YOU FOOLS

I always hate it when new games come out because I know I'm going to be locked out of the conversation for a good 2 weeks.

Breton Spellswordy chap. Can't decide between Heavy and Light armor but I'm leaning towards Light. Still can't tell if I like the new spell/equip system yet.

You think that's bad, I'm hopefully waiting until Christmas to get my copy.

In the meantime, I'm going to try and emulate the feel of the game by hunting for deer in my backyard with a kitchen knife and slingshot.

You're the damn pussy, pussy.

I decided to to also go with one handed weapons, because mana running out in the middle of a fight is not fun. So far, game is awesomesauce. Every time I duel cast a spell it looks like I'm doing a kamehameha.

I HAVE A COMPLAINT. Fuck off big mountains don't encourage exploration, especially when you have very little idea which is the right way to get up them.

4 years later!

But yeah, Saints Row 2 did the same thing before I stopped it. I go over my download cap by a bit and I start getting bills for hundreds. Fucking Irish internet. It should install by disk from default.

It's because they make these games in cushy Seattle offices with always on fiber optic wires.

I'm gonna do what I always do in a medieval fantasy game.

Pic a nord, specialize in heavy armor and two handers, rush into battle going RAGAREHAEGRHAEHAETFADG and murdering the fuck out of everything that looks at me funny.

Nothing beats burying an axe in the skull of some pussy spellcaster or elf.

I like being a mage/warrior because I prefer to be a heavy damage-dealer and fireballs + stabby blades tends to be a good combo for that. Also I can increase my warrior endurance with spell buffs and having healing if I need to take damage myself.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm doing. There's a nice armour buff called oakflesh which you get pretty early on; that's helped me in quite a few fights.

I'm not crazy when i say that Skyrim is a lot harder than Oblivion am I?

I'm using magic more often than I thought I would, just got into contact with the Dark Brotherhood, was cool as shit.

How's the combat? Do you just hold down block then counter or is it improved?

It's similiar but dual wielding means you have more ways to fight, melee attacks also feel like they have more weight. I've not had to rely on block, wildly swing sword, block etc. nearly as much as I did in Oblivion.

Silver hand attacks on sight. Might send assassins like Fallout does, dunno yet.

Bonus's include changing once a day at your choice which grants instant kills and shit, 100% resist disease and for xbox users at least - 10g.

They denied it in the hype. I understand why.

Would have liked it if it had an "Animal friend" trait associated with it. Ie, not having packs of wolves attack you.

I brought the Whiterun house last night as I wanted to dump all my stuff safely. Also, I had a kitty of 11K to spend so I brought the house and upgraded it fully.

Haven't been to any table mountains. I found some dwarven ruins while exploring, didn't go inside but it looked very cool.

How many dragons have y'all fought? I think I've either killed 5 or 6. For such big things, they have a nasty habit of sneaking up on you.

Literally, mfw one landed right on fucking top of me

I found one that sounds like that, they kept saying they didn't want to attack me.

I've killed 3 I think, a few times they've turned up then flown away, which kinda sucked.

That's the one. Cool twist to it too.

Killed 2.

Fought about 8 though. Enemies keep dealing all the damage and usually killing it. I mean, I'm slashing one and an evil Mage dude just Force Lightning'd it to death. Not as epic as I'd hope because other enemies kill it for me.

I was fighting one near a shepard-woolly mammoth camp thing. The fucking Giant runs over and kills the dragon in 3 hits.

If only the AI was programmed to flee when they appear, whether they can damage it or not.

Just a question for the tech savvy.

Is an AMD Radeon 6000 series more powerful than a 4000 series?
